พระสังข์ : การผจญภัยของวีรบุรุษ (Phra Sang: The Hero's Journey)

การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ 2 ประการ คือ เพื่อศึกษาพระสังข์ตัวละครเอก ในบทละครนอก เรื่องสังข์ทอง พระราชนิพนธ์ในพระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธเลิศหล้านภาลัย ตามกรอบแนวคิดการผจญภัยของวีรบุรุษของโจเซฟ แคมพ์เบลล์ และศึกษาลักษณะ ความขัดแย้งที่ผสมผสานซึ่งปรากฏในตัวพระสังข์ ใช้วิธีวิจัยเอกสาร ผลการวิจัย พบว่า พระสังข์มีวงจรการผจญภัยเหมือนกับแนวคิดวีรบุรุษของโจเซฟ แคมพ์เบลล์ ทั้ง 3 ขั้นตอน คือ ขั้นตอนการออกเดินทาง ขั้นตอนการทดสอบทดลองและขั้นตอนการกลับคืน ส่วนด้านลักษณะความขัดแย้งที่ผสมผสาน พบ 2 รูปแบบ คือ พระสังข์มีรูปร่างที่อัปลักษณ์ซึ่งมีความขัดแย้งที่ผสมผสานกับความดีและความสามารถที่เหนือคนธรรมดา ขณะเดียวกันก็มีความเด็ดขาดซึ่งมีความขัดแย้งที่ผสมผสานกับลักษณะที่อ่อนโยนและมีอารมณ์ขัน The purposes of this study are to analyse the character of Phra Sang in the Sang Tong, a drama composed by King Rama II, according Joseph Campbell's theory of the hero's Journey, and to study the Paradoxical character of Phra Sang. The research utilized a documentary methodology and the results show that the character of Phra Sang conformed to Joseph Campbell’s theory of the hero’s journey in three facets: departure, initiation and return. The Paradoxical character of Phra Sang are: ugly body with virtue aspect whose abilities are beyond human beings, always showing decisiveness, but kind, and full of humor.References
