Abstract

Abstract
As intercultural awareness has been studied to develop mutual understanding and respecting among people with different cultures, this importance is confirmed by a considerable number of studies (Bastos & Sá, 2015; Cheng, 2007; Vurdien & Puranen, 2018; Zorba & Cakjr, 2019). Little research has been done on the development in Thai context. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the development of intercultural awareness of undergraduate EFL students through the implementation of literature circles. This is a qualitative study. Thus, semi-structured interview and journal are administered to collect the data. Findings suggest that literature circles enhance intercultural awareness of undergraduate EFL students successfully. Not only own cultural awareness but also different cultural awareness of those students is successively increased.
