สังคมวิทยาของการพนัน : ว่าด้วยชนชั้นแรงงาน ในนิคมอุตสาหกรรมแห่งความฝัน (Sociology of Gambling: On Working Class in Industrial Estate of Dream)

Abstract

บทความนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ทางสังคมการพนันของกลุ่มแรงงานในนิคมอุตสาหกรรมแห่งหนึ่งในภาคตะวันออก ด้วยวิธีการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ความเป็นเมืองอุตสาหกรรมได้ก่อให้เกิดการแตกตัวของกลุ่มชนชั้นทางสังคมใหม่ โดยเฉพาะกลุ่มชนชั้นกลางที่เป็นแรงงานย้ายถิ่น เข้ามาในพื้นที่มีความเป็นปัจเจกสูง รายได้จากการทำงานไม่สอดคล้องกับค่าใช้จ่าย ความสัมพันธ์กับระบบการเมืองในท้องถิ่นต่ำ การเติบโตของฟุตบอลอาชีพในประเทศนำไปสู่การเกิดขึ้นของวัฒนธรรมแฟนบอลใหม่ คือ แฟนบอลพลัดถิ่น แฟนบอลทางไกล และแฟนบอลเฉพาะกิจ สนามฟุตบอลเช่า ได้กลายเป็นพื้นที่สาธารณะแบบใหม่ของกลุ่มแรงงานในสังคมอุตสาหกรรม สังคมการพนันของแรงงานคือ เครือข่ายความสัมพันธ์ทางด้านการเงินเฉพาะหน้าเพื่อบรรเทาภาระค่าใช้จ่ายในแต่ละวัน และการเล่นพนันเป็นรูปแบบ ความสัมพันธ์ทางสังคมใหม่บนพื้นที่ที่ถูกควบคุมด้วยกลไกของการทำงานและตารางเวลาในโรงงานอุตสาหกรรมและเป็นพื้นที่ของการแสดงความสามารถ และตัวตนของกลุ่มแรงงาน This research paper explores the sociology of football gambling among eastern Thai workers who migrate to large industrial estates in search of work, based on a qualitative research methodology. The result revealed that industrial estates have formed a new social class, especially the middle class of migrant workers in individuality area with lower income and less connection with local political system. The growth of professional football club in Thailand also generated new culture of football fan club: migrant football fan club, long distance football fan club, and gambling football fan club. However, soccer field also created a new public space among workers where social gambling also another networking of financial relationship that relieved daily life expenses. In addition, gambling is also a new social relationship model in the area where working systems, and working hours are mattered. Moreover, the soccer field is also a space where workers can express their football player skill, and identifiy themselves among the workers.
