แนวคิดเรื่องความแตกต่างทางวัฒนธรรมในนวนิยายของ ‘บุญเหลือ’ (The Concepts of Culture Differences in Boonlua’s Novels)

Abstract

นวนิยายเรื่อง สะใภ้แหม่ม สุรัตนารี และ ดร.ลูกทุ่ง ของ ‘บุญเหลือ’ หรือ หม่อมหลวงบุญเหลือ เทพยสุวรรณ เป็นนวนิยายที่สะท้อนให้เห็นแนวคิดเรื่องความแตกต่างทางวัฒนธรรมในสังคมไทยในช่วง พ.ศ. 2485 ถึง พ.ศ. 2516 โดยประมาณ สะใภ้แหม่ม ซึ่งเป็นเรื่องย้อนอดีตไปถึงสมัยหลังสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 แสดงให้เห็นความแตกต่างระหว่างวัฒนธรรมไทยกับวัฒนธรรมตะวันตก สุรัตนารี เป็นนวนิยายจินตนิมิต ได้เสนอความคิดเรื่องความแตกต่างของวัฒนธรรมและบทบาทชาย-หญิงในโลกแห่งความจริงและโลกอุดมคติ ส่วน ดร. ลูกทุ่ง เสนอแนวคิดเรื่องความแตกต่างของวัฒนธรรมชาวกรุงกับวัฒนธรรมชาวบ้าน ในปัจจุบันปัญหาความแตกต่างทางวัฒนธรรมที่นำเสนอผ่าน นวนิยายทั้ง 3 เรื่องนี้ได้คลี่คลายลงมากแล้ว เพราะสังคมโลกาภิวัตน์ และผู้คนต่างเข้าใจ เรียนรู้และปรับตัวเข้าหากัน นวนิยายทั้ง 3 เรื่องเป็นนวนิยายที่ฉายภาพสังคมและวัฒนธรรมที่กระตุ้นความคิดและจินตนาการของผู้อ่าน อีกทั้งอ่านสนุกเพราะมีรสวรรณศิลป์

   Saphai Mam (สะใภ้แหม่ม) Surat Naree (สุรัต นารี) และ Doctor Luktung (ดร. ลุกทุ่ง), written by ‘Boonlua’ or M.L. Boonlua Thepayasuwan reveal the concepts of the culture differences in Thai society during 1942 to 1973 approximately. Saphai Mam which tells the love story between Thai man and English woman during the time after the Second World War, reflects the differences between Thai culture and western culture. Surat Naree which is a fantasy novel reflects the culture and roles of woman and man in the utopian society which are contrary in the real world. Doctor Luktung expresses the differences between urban culture and rural culture. In the present day, these problems are in decline because of the globalization and also the people learn to know each other. These 3 novels urge the readers’ thoughts and imaginations as well as the amusement by their literary tastes.
