ตุ๊กตาลูกเทพ : การผลิตซํ้าวาทกรรม “ไม่เชื่ออย่าลบหลู่” และบทบาทของวัตถุมงคลสมัยใหม่ในสังคมไทย (Goddess Dolls : The Reproduction of the Discourse “If You Don’t Believe It, Don’t Disrespect It” and the Functions of Modern Sacred Objects in Thai Society)

Abstract

งานวิจัยเรื่องตุ๊กตาลูกเทพ : การผลิตซํ้าวาทกรรม “ไม่เชื่ออย่าลบหลู่” และ
บทบาทของวัตถุมงคลสมัยใหม่ในสังคมไทย มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการผลิตซํ้าวาทกรรม
“ไม่เชื่ออย่าลบหลู่” ในสังคมไทยปัจจุบันที่นำเสนอผ่านปรากฏการณ์การนับถือตุ๊กตา
ลูกเทพในฐานะวัตถุมงคลหรือเครื่องรางของขลัง อันจะทำให้มองเห็นบทบาทความสำคัญ
ของวาทกรรมที่ส่งอิทธิพลต่อปรากฏการณ์ความเชื่อในสังคมไทย ผลการวิจัยพบว่า
วาทกรรม “ไม่เชื่ออย่าลบหลู่” ใช้กลวิธีทางภาษาในการสื่อชุดความคิดเกี่ยวกับการบูชา
ตุ๊กตาลูกเทพ 3 กลวิธี ได้แก่ การเลือกใช้คำศัพท์ รูปภาษาที่ใช้อ้างถึง และการใช้ประโยค
แสดงความสัมพันธ์แบบเหตุ - ผล ส่วนวิถีปฏิบัติทางวาทกรรม พบว่า ปรากฏการณ์
บูชาตุ๊กตาลูกเทพเป็นผลของกระบวนการสื่อสารที่ผู้เลี้ยงตุ๊กตาลูกเทพยอมรับอำนาจ

ของวาทกรรม “ไม่เชื่ออย่าลบหลู่” วาทกรรมนี้มีแนวโน้มที่จะส่งอิทธิพลต่อความคิด
ของผู้ที่ยอมรับวาทกรรมได้ง่าย ส่วนวิถีปฏิบัติทางสังคมวัฒนธรรม พบว่า วาทกรรม
“ไม่เชื่ออย่าลบหลู่” ที่แพร่กระจายในสังคมไทยเกี่ยวข้องกับความคิดทางพุทธศาสนา
ที่ผสมผสานความเชื่อแบบผีและพราหมณ์ และสภาวะสังคมแบบรวมกลุ่ม ประเด็น
ที่น่าสนใจที่ทำให้วาทกรรม “ไม่เชื่ออย่าลบหลู่” ยังมีพลวัตและถูกผลิตซํ้าในสังคมไทย
อยู่เสมอเพราะวาทกรรม “ไม่เชื่ออย่าลบหลู่” เป็นกลวิธีทางภาษาที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการ
ปลดพันธนาการทางความเห็นและการประนีประนอมทางสังคมไทย นอกจากนี้
การวิเคราะห์บทบาทของวาทกรรม “ไม่เชื่ออย่าลบหลู่” ที่ส่งผลต่อปรากฏการณ์การบูชา
ตุ๊กตาลูกเทพมีบทบาทหน้าที่ 4 ประการ ได้แก่ 1) หน้าที่ในการอธิบายที่มาและเหตุผล
ในการทำพิธีกรรม 2) หน้าที่ในการให้การศึกษาในสังคมที่ใช้ประเพณีบอกเล่า 3) หน้าที่

ในการรักษามาตรฐานทางพฤติกรรมที่เป็นแบบแผนของสังคม และ 4) หน้าที่ในการ
ให้ความเพลิดเพลินและเป็นทางออกของความคับข้องใจของบุคคล ส่วนการวิเคราะห์
ปัจจัยที่ทำให้ปรากฏการณ์บูชาตุ๊กตาลูกเทพได้รับความนิยมนั้น พบว่า เป็นเพราะ
การปรับเปลี่ยนรูปแบบพิธีกรรมให้เข้ากับพลวัตทางสังคม

The research of Goddess Dolls: The Reproduction of the Discourse
“If You Don’t Believe It, Don’t Disrespect It” and the Functions of Modern
Sacred Objects in Thai Society was aimed to study the dynamic of the
reproduction of the discourse “If you don’t believe it, don’t disrespect it” in
present Thai society through paying respect to goddess dolls as amulets. The
roles as well as significance of this discourse were explored in the light of its
influence on the phenomenon of such belief in the society. The results of this
research indicated that 3 linguistic techniques were manipulated to convey the
discourse “If you don’t believe it, don’t disrespect it” as a set of idea with regard 

to worshipping goddess dolls. Those techniques included vocabulary selection,
forms of language to be referred, and using sentences with cause-and-effect
relations. As for the practice of the discourse, the phenomenon of this worship
was the consequence of communication process in the point that keepers
accepted the power of the discourse “If you don’t believe it, don’t disrespect it”,
which colored minds of those who believed such words easily. Focusing on the
conduct of cultural society, it was found that the spreading discourse “If you
don’t believe it, don’t disrespect it” was relevant to Buddhist concepts and the
state of assembly society. Furthermore, the subjected discourse is still 

constantly dynamic and reproduced in Thai society because it is a linguistic
technique that leads to the release of opinion bondage as well as compromise
in the society. Besides, according to the analysis of the roles of the discourse
“If you don’t believe it, don’t disrespect it”, which bring about the phenomenon
of goddess doll worship, 4 crucial Functions were discovered as follows.
1) The Function to explain the source and reasons of the implementation of
the rite. 2) The Function to educate the society which basically learn on
tradition-based narrations. 3) The Function to sustain customary behavioral
standards. 4) The Function to entertain and to relieve grievances. Regarding
the analysis of the factor that created the popularity of this phenomenon, the 

results revealed that it was because the rite of the worship was modified to be
congruent with current social dynamic.
