อนาคตของมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์ในสังคมไทย (Future of Humanities and Social Sciences in Thai Society)

Abstract

การเปลี่ยนแปลงอันเนื่องจากความก้าวหน้าด้านวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี ทำให้สังคมสนใจด้านมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์น้อยลง ทั้ง ๆ ที่ศาสตร์สาขานี้มีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อความคิดสร้างสรรค์ จินตนาการ ทักษะการสื่อสาร และช่วยให้อยู่รอดในสังคมซึ่งมีปัญหาต่าง ๆ มากมายที่วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีสมัยใหม่ไม่สามารถแก้ไขได้ ในยุคของการปฏิวัติอุตสาหกรรมครั้งที่ 4 หรือยุค 4.0 ซึ่งมีอัตราการเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรวดเร็วและซับซ้อน ความก้าวหน้าทางวิทยาการและเทคโนโลยี แม้จะมีส่วนช่วยให้เกิดการพัฒนาด้านต่าง ๆ แต่ขณะเดียวกันได้ทำลายล้างและสร้างปัญหาที่ร้ายแรงแก่มนุษย์ รวมทั้งระบบนิเวศอย่างกว้างขวาง การเปลี่ยนแปลงดังกล่าวโลกจึงต้องการความรู้ และทักษะด้านมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์มาใช้แก้ปัญหา แต่ประเด็นสำคัญ อยู่ที่ว่า ผู้ที่อยู่ในวงการการศึกษาและให้การศึกษาเรียนรู้ศาสตร์ด้านนี้ จะต้องไม่เล็งเห็น แค่ความสำคัญของมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์เพียงอย่างเดียว ต้องลงมือปฏิบัติ ให้สังคมได้ประจักษ์ว่า ความรู้และทักษะด้านมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์มีประโยชน์และมีคุณค่าต่อสังคมที่จับต้องได้เป็นรูปธรรม คือ ต้องช่วยให้ผู้เรียนมีทักษะด้าน การสื่อสารอย่างดี มีพลังทั้งด้านการเขียนและการพูด มีความเข้าใจเงื่อนไขประวัติศาสตร์และบริบทของเหตุการณ์ต่าง ๆ ที่เกิดขึ้น ฯลฯ จะต้องคำนึงถึงระบบนิเวศทั้งในแง่ การทำลายความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพ และในแง่การล่มสลาย อีกทั้งตระหนักรู้ว่า การพัฒนาชุมชนให้เข้มแข็งยั่งยืนนั้น จะต้องรักษาทุนระบบนิเวศ ทุนสังคม ทุนวัฒนธรรม ทุนปัญญา และทุนเงินตราให้คงอยู่อย่างถาวร นอกจากนี้ผู้ให้การศึกษาเรียนรู้จะต้องมีความรู้ข้ามสาขาวิชาให้มาก เพราะไม่มีอะไรในโลกที่จะทำความเข้าใจกระจ่างชัดได้ด้วยความรู้จากสาขาวิชาเดียว ต้องหาผู้ที่รู้จริง รู้แจ้ง และมีความรู้ข้ามสาขาวิชา มาทำหน้าที่ครู หรือผู้เอื้อต่อการเรียนรู้ อีกทั้งทำอย่างไรการเรียนรู้จะไม่เป็นการปิดกั้นและลดทอนความคิดเชิงวิพากษ์ ความคิดเชิงสร้างสรรค์ และความคิดเชิงจินตนาการ การพัฒนาบุคลากรที่รับผิดชอบด้านการเรียนการสอนและการจัดกระบวนการเรียนรู้ดังกล่าว จึงเป็นสิ่งจำเป็นอย่างยิ่งสำหรับในระดับอุดมศึกษา การสนับสนุนให้นักศึกษามีประสบการณ์ การเรียนรู้จากโลกแห่งความเป็นจริง เป็นผู้มีจิตสาธารณะ อาทรต่อเพื่อนมนุษย์และ สิ่งแวดล้อม มีคุณธรรมจริยธรรม ฯลฯ เป็นสิ่งจำเป็นอย่างยิ่ง และต้องไม่ละเลยต่อ การศึกษาวิจัย โดยสถาบันการศึกษาต้องให้การสนับสนุนไม่น้อยหน้ากว่าด้านวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี ทั้งในแง่การพัฒนานักวิจัยและการทำวิจัยเพื่อต่อยอดความรู้ รวมถึง การวิจัยที่เอื้อให้ทุกภาคส่วนมีส่วนร่วม ในด้านการจัดหลักสูตรจะต้องมุ่งให้นักศึกษา มีความรู้และทักษะด้านมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์อย่างจริงจัง โดยเน้นให้นำไปใช้ประโยชน์และประยุกต์ใช้ในชีวิตจริง ด้วยการเน้นหลักสูตรที่เป็นสหวิทยาการ และที่สำคัญ คือ ความสำเร็จดังกล่าวจะต้องใช้ยุทธศาสตร์การขับเคลื่อนในระดับชาติ ระดับสถานศึกษา และระดับคณะด้วย นี่คืิอ ความคิดเกี่ยวกับอนาคตของมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์ในสังคมไทย

 The world has rapidly changed due to the advancement of Sciences and Technology. This change might cause Humanities and Social Sciences get less focus even they are very much important for imagination, creation, communication skill, and can solve social problems that Sciences and Technology cannot help. The 4th industrial revolution has not only changed our global rapidly and complicatedly, but also destroys and creates many serious problems for both humanities and environment as well. Therefore, these changes need to be combined with knowledge and skill in Humanities and Social Sciences to solve these problems. However, all attention should be paid to instructors in these sciences who need to make people in the society be aware of Humanities and Social Sciences’ value and benefit. These sciences enable the students to be skilful in communication, understand history not only an event, but also its context. Moreover, all developments also needs to pay attention to ecology system, and also community sustainable development that need to preserve all resources; ecology, society, cultures, local wisdom, and economics. Therefore, all instructors in Humanities and Social Sciences need to understand other sciences as much as possible since there is no single science can make one understand this complicate world truly and deeply. Humanities and Social Sciences needs instructors who have deep and wide knowledge to facilitate the class that open for all questions, creation, imagination, and critical thinking to make all students understand the world truly and deeply through experiences. This could enable students to have public mind, gentle to nature and human beings with high morality.

Moreover, all researches should be paid more attention to improve both researchers and develop knowledge that open for all to participate. Last but not least, the curriculum must enable the learner to have both knowledge and skill in Humanities and Social Sciences especially truly utilise its true benefits and can be applied in daily life. All these can be done through all strategy levels: national, university, and department.
